Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 July 2026

1. Introduction

Weduler ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our wedding planning app and guest websites.

Weduler is operated by a sole proprietor based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is available to couples in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries where we make it available. By using Weduler, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

We process personal data in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. Where you are in the United Kingdom, we also respect the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 to the extent they apply. Where you are in the United States, we honour applicable state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA) to the extent they apply to our processing.

2. Where we store your data

Your account, wedding workspace, guest lists, and RSVPs are hosted on servers in the United States (Ionos US data centre). Uploaded photos and files are stored in Microsoft Azure Blob Storage in the United States (East US region). We may offer UK and Europe local hosting in future; until then all couples use the same United States hosting region.

We use trusted subprocessors that may process data outside the United States when you use certain features — for example Microsoft (Azure file storage), Resend (email), Stripe (payments on the web), Google Firebase (push notifications), and OpenAI (optional AI assistant).

3. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: account details (name, email, optional phone, hashed password), wedding workspace data, guest website and RSVP data, partner invitations, notification preferences, and support messages. If you use the guest photo album (Weduler Plus), we also store photos guests upload to your wedding album and related access tokens used to authenticate those uploads.

If you use the Weduler couple app on Android or iOS, we collect the same account and wedding workspace data as on the web. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging). The app may access your camera or photo library only when you choose to upload photos.

We automatically collect usage data, device information (IP address, browser type, operating system), and cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

4. Age restrictions

Weduler is intended for adults planning a wedding. You must be at least 18 to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal data, contact privacy@weduler.com and we will delete it promptly where required.

5. Guest website and RSVP data

When you publish a guest website or collect RSVPs, you decide what wedding details and guest information to request and display. Weduler provides the tools to host that page and store responses so you can plan together.

Guest names, contact details, RSVP answers, and similar information are collected so you (the couple) can manage your wedding. We process that information to operate the Service on your behalf. You are responsible for how you use guest information and for complying with applicable privacy laws when you collect or share it.

Guests who submit an RSVP or other information on a published guest site can contact privacy@weduler.com with questions about how their data is handled. We may need to involve the couple who published the site to respond fully.

6. How long we keep guest album photos

If you use the guest photo album (Weduler Plus), we keep album photos for up to three years after your wedding date. If no wedding date is set, we keep them for up to three years after the last album upload. You can delete individual photos or your wedding workspace sooner. Account deletion removes content as described in section 10.

The album is a wedding keepsake, not permanent cloud backup for every photo forever. Before removing album photos at the end of that window, we aim to notify wedding account holders and encourage you to download a copy (for example via ZIP export). We may offer options to keep an album online longer in future; that is not guaranteed and is not sold as part of the standard Plus pass today.

Other wedding workspace data (tasks, guest lists, and similar) is retained while your account and wedding remain active, subject to deletion requests and our need to keep limited records for security, fraud prevention, tax, or legal compliance.

7. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services; process transactions; send technical notices and support messages; respond to your requests; monitor trends and usage; detect and prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations.

8. How we share information

We share personal data with subprocessors who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, email, payments, push notifications, and optional AI), as described in section 2.

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Weduler, our users, guests, or the public.

If we sell, merge, or transfer all or part of the business or assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will use reasonable efforts to ensure the recipient continues to protect the data in a manner consistent with this policy.

We endeavour to protect your information with appropriate technical and organisational measures, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Canada: you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC). United Kingdom: these rights may be provided under UK GDPR; you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). United States: residents of states with privacy laws may have additional rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@weduler.com. We will respond within one month where required by law. To delete your account, see section 10 below or visit our account deletion page.

10. How to delete your account

You can delete your Weduler account and associated personal data in either of these ways:

In the app or on the web: sign in, open Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account, and confirm. You may need to complete two-factor authentication if it is enabled on your account.

Without the app: email privacy@weduler.com from the address registered on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". Include the email address of the account you want deleted. We will verify the request and process it.

What we delete: your user account (name, email, optional phone, credentials), profile and wedding content you control (tasks, ideas, reminders, guest lists, RSVPs, uploaded photos, guest website settings), push device tokens, and related account records. If you are the only member of a wedding workspace, you must invite a partner or remove that wedding before account deletion can complete.

Timing: we aim to complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request (sooner when you delete in-app). We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, tax, or legal compliance, as described elsewhere in this policy.

A standalone summary for store and Data safety forms is also published at /legal/delete-account.
